Carrara is a new venture from two well respected UK producers focusing on the sweet spot where dub, jazz, house and funk meet in a Balaeric boudoir. The first EP offers up 4 midtempo groovers sure to stoke the dancefloor fires, with lead cut Nile of White being a 12 minute dubjazz odyysey that's already been picking up love from Michael Ruetten, Marco Gallerani and Phil Cooper amongst others. A wonderful reversioning of a rare as hen's teeth original, one for the heads and the connoisseurs. Mercury is a roller, a deep house slo-mo slink that does a lot with a few elements: delicious. Sam Sam but Different rocks an Andres type vibe with the disco feels dialled up and the haziness maxed out. Can't Find You Anywhere rounds things off with a minimal feel, eighties pads tweaked for the modern floor. All four cuts sound great, precision-tooled for the floors that swing to the deeper beat. Carrara got it going on.
